Famous Skateboarders




Skateboarding has seen its fair share of famous athletes over the years. Today, many famous skateboarders are household names.

Tony Hawk is undoubtedly the biggest name in skateboarding. The first person to perform a 900 in competition at the 1999 X Games, Hawk has become a public figure for skateboarders and has a successful tour and video game franchise to his name.



Another famous name in skateboarding is Rodney Mullen. His relaxed, comfortable style belays the incredible complexity and difficulty of his tricks. A veteran skateboarder since 1974, Mullen has many tricks to his name, including the heelflip, ollie nosebone, airwalk, kickflip, and many others.




Bob Burnquist is a highly technical skater whose style has all the subtleties of dance. Burnquist thrives on doing amazing new things; he is a licensed pilot and skydiver with over 450 jumps. Another big name is Andrew Reynolds, who is famous for the big gaps and huge sets of stairs he's jumped. At 9, Reynolds went from never having skated to having won a competition.

There are many famous skateboarders, and the sport will without a doubt produce many more great athletes.
